No photos

No photos and no knitting and not even any sneaked in sewing.

I have had quite a bit on my mind of late, and here is the gist of it.

My Dearly Beloved has retired, and we are now getting started on a project that has been in our minds for a long time. We are not quite running away to sea, but something similar. Now that all three children are out of the house, and getting on with their lives, we are going to do likewise. We plan to move home to somewhere rural, fairly far north of here, and out of the ambit of Surrey, London and all that that entails. We don't know where yet and next week we make a start on looking. We will be pottering around in the right sort of places, waiting for something to announce that this would be a good place.

I doubt if there will be much posting for some time.

It feels a little bit like an elopement. It is just that we have waited 42 years to get around to it!

Having lived "in the sticks" for too many years with buses few and far between, taking a whole day to get to and from hospital appointments, having to plan shopping trips and frequently seeing few friends we have moved into a large town in preparation for retirement and we love it. People to meet, knitting groups, great local services, buses everywhere, shops on our doorstep, doctors etc 10mins walk away, galleries museums and a railway station to get you anywhere. Hope you find somewhere nice, like you anticipate, the search was fun.

I just left a comment on your "funny feelings" post -- now I understand the context. We too have just retired, and things from around the world in three different shipments from 3 different "eras" are finally getting unpacked, sorted, etc. Good luck -- it's taking me ages! And I NEVER want to move again!! It's the "finding places for...." that does one in LOL
And we "bought in" so we'd be near things, and then could get "out" when we need to.
