I didn't really mean to do that. I don't need any more yarn.But it was such a grey rainy day, and I had had a weekend of feeling slightly seedy, and there I was driving past my other LYS - yes, I am blessed with more than one. They have extended the premises, and it seemed like a good idea to check them out and see how that went.
Three skeins of Araucania and a ball of Trekking. They certainly know how to put temptation in my way.
Then the sun came out.

Yes but I am not thinking socks. What is the yardage for the Faeroese shawl in Gathering of Lace?
There's a large one and a small one. The large takes 1200 yards of Unspun Icelandic on 6mm needles, the small takes 874 yards of a cashmere two-ply on 3.25mm needles (it's just as well I haven't put it in the parcel for Lucy yet). The large is huge, and the small is a kerchief, so three skeins or 1128 yards of Ranco Multy on a suitably sized needle would probably give you something in between in size.
